Jewel For Today

Reflection.

When I first launched Love, Jane, I was trying to learn the how-tos of food blogging. It was a nice learning experience, but I always knew I was going to dance to the beat of my own drum. I decided that I was going to offer products and services. It started slow, then sped up to the point where I was and still am receiving weekly requests. Of course, I don't accept every offer. Though I'm truly grateful to have people to request services from my business, none of it matters more than being able to homeschool my babies, walking with them in the neighborhood, and playing race and catch in our backyard and so much more like beautiful conversations, date nights with my hubby, waking up to my favorite latte order in front of me, family movie night, our farmers markets visit, doing beautiful somethings and beautiful nothing, which is a beautiful something at home - quality time with my favorites.

Fun Times.
Excuse the windshield. There was a dust storm on our road trip. The camera couldn't quite capture the beauty of the scenery. There were beautiful mountains. It looked like a Bob Ross painting.

Last year, I started to post less and less on social media ... so much so to the point to where posting was something I forgot about until I would think about like weeks later. You know those notifications that iPhone sends weekly about the timing on the phone? I always smile when it tells me my average amount of time on social media. Literally averages one minute weekly.

I decided to insert my daily average chart.

That is such an amazing feeling to me because I've been on a journey of connecting more with the planet.

I'm studying how to properly grow fruits and vegetables. I've just started my flour milling journey. I made fire cider and fermented honey garlic. Isn't it amazing how beautiful moments in time bring you even more into yourself? It feels so freeing. The other day, date night for my hubby and me was at a restaurant that uses only organic and seasonal foods. Their ingredients are directly from farmers who care about the soil and the planet.

Date night! Everything on my plate was edible, including the flower. On our charcuterie board that we ordered before our entrees, there were Pico African Pear. It was marinated in something amazing. Delicious!

My apothecary started with my princess, Kyla and I's mommy and daughter weekly tea parties. She wasn't drinking the tea, but I started researching teas out of curiosity and went down a rabbit hole of information that has me so excited. I do believe in medicine when necessary, but if not, lovely tea. What people may not know is that I've always studied wellness. I just keep falling deeper and deeper into it. Drinking tea and farmers' market visits have been a part of my routine. For a couple of years now, though, it has become more of a practice that fills me with even more joy, that feels like me welcoming another layer of me right into myself.

It's a blessing to stand in gratitude, feeling God's peace. That's a peace we can't master, and we can't earn. It can only come from Him. It's an honor and a privilege.

I wasn't going to post anymore this year. In November, I decided to only post once, maybe twice in December. I then decided I'd love to share another letter with my supporters. 2025 has been such a great year for Love, Jane. I look forward to sharing more food and more stories! Food is universal. So is storytelling.

Have an amazing week, y'all! I'll see you in 2026.

I'm super grateful for all those who have ever been encouraged by the stories I share.

Jewel For Today.

The clock will keep ticking, whether we notice it or not. Spend your time wisely. Uplift others, offer encouragement, embrace lessons, and grow along the way. Nourish it with love and grace and kindness.

Time is beautiful and precious. Savor every moment.

The scenery from our hotel's window was beautiful.

The scenery from our hotel's window was beautiful. I love to search for certain foods in different areas.
