Gather

Who we are as adults often starts from childhood. Mama loved to entertain and tell stories. And beyond that, she was loving, present, and nurturing. I was able to see up close how valuable time truly is.

Do you agree that we're shaped, not just by what we're taught, but also by what we've experienced? While I learned the value of time in some of the most beautiful ways, as a little girl, in some ways, time also became something that mattered deeply because of the losses that I experienced.

If you've followed any of my writing over the years since I've been on social media, you know that time is one of the topics I've always spoken on. It's one of the things I talk about in real life. It's valuable. The clock doesn't stop ticking. Make the best of it.

When we look back to reflect on the memories we've made over time, we can either reflect on them with joy or sit in regret.

Make every moment matter. Sit down and eat with your loved ones as often as you can. Those are the times and conversations that will last forever. Generation after generation - those same memories will be talked about. Those same jewels can be shared hundreds of years from now.

It doesn't have to be surrounding food. Talk over a cup of tea, coffee, even a glass of water. Look at movies, play board games, cards, go on vacation, build tents in the living room. Try to do something fun together. Imagine the conversation years from now, after something funny happens:

"Remember that time we went jogging and started running when we saw that little bitty puppy?!"

I really hope that none of my letters are annoying. I promise, all I want to do is spread joy ... genuine joy to as many people as possible. We live in a world where people are often misled by what seems positive, so I get it when the concept of Love, Jane is not fully grasped at times. Sometimes it stings, but because these conversations matter to me, I get back up on my mission.

Sometimes jewels are thought about decades later. Even if you don't receive the business, I hope you'll receive the message. These letters are written with love and the desire to spread light. I don't want to even hold back joy from the small sprinkle of people who send messages saying, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah. Is this a food business or what?!' Lol. The answer? Yes, but I dance to the beat of my own drum. Food and stories are the business; however, it's also the medium for being in service to you to spread joy. If I were to share my poems, my stories from the 90's, it would be in this exact voice right here. I was saying these things well before the internet.

Our tables hold more than food. They hold our memories, conversations, and jewels that we get to own forever in our hearts.

We are human. We are imperfect ... and yet we still have the ability to make others smile.

I hope you smiled reading this. I hope this letter made your day even just a little brighter.

Keep your light!
