How The Chapter Concludes
Here it is:

My beautiful mama helped me through that challenging time.
I used the word depressed, but here's what I've grown to understand: words chosen when the heart is heavy can sometimes be like a picture taken too close to its subject. Zooming in doesn't capture the full picture. Sometimes one has to take a step back, refocus to get a clearer view of the entire picture. That's what brings clarity to what was actually in view.
I wrote what I thought was the appropriate way to describe it. I was fresh in grief over Mama, trying to also tell the story of grief over my aunt. My heart was heavy over my aunt, yes, and I was grieving. It didn't get as far as depression.
But my heart was indeed heavy. And I was hurting.
But it got better, and I carry it as a lesson.
